Web 2.0 Primer

This article serves as a primer for CMS (Content Management Systems) and seeks to address the multiple immediate and long term benefits of deploying a modern web 2.0 based platform. Although the emergence of the “Web 2.0” is rather new and may seem complex, the benefits are numerous and using such a system is quite easy. The days of static web pages that are difficult to update, require constant maintenance by trained experts, or knowledge of html to create are coming to an end; the dawn of collaborative and feature rich web platforms represent the future of the web. It is not a matter of IF a company will make the move to Web 2.0 it’s a matter of when and how.
The start of something beautiful...
Having designed websites and content management systems for various companies over the past 10 years, it has become clear that a profound shift is taking place in the way people build and utilize the internet. Certainly the web 2.0 buzz has caught the world by storm bringing social integration to new unimagined levels of success, but there are other fundamental shifts that have occurred rather quietly behind the spotlight of frontpages around the world in both the mechanisms that allow for the emerging web 2.0 revolution and the process by which such an undertaking occurs.
As we continue adding more and more content to our site, I will touch on several of these observations using this blog as a medium for thoughtful exchange of ideas and innovative approaches the web community might take in embracing the continual evolution of internet systems.
